A Holiday Fabric Giveaway

Have you heard of papernstitch? It is a curated exhibition of handmade and independent design and craft. And this month, I have my debut fabric exhibition there!

Visit my exhibition on papernstitch!
I have been designing patterns for surface design for a long time now, and I have never found more satisfaction than seeing my designs come to life on fabric. Rather than set up an Etsy store to sell these fabrics, I am able now to sell them directly to my friends and family far and wide thanks to the merchant platform provided by Spoonflower. And because I can sell them directly, I do not have to process the fabrics or ship them myself, meaning that buyers get the same price I do! So cool! And even better, any design can be printed on any of 5 fabrics in cuts as small as 8x8"! Have I mentioned that I love Stephen, Kim, Gart, and everyone else at Spoonflower? Well, I do.

I heart papernstitch! I heart Spoonflower! I...am getting carried away, no?

Still, since I'm in a spread-the-love kind of mood, there's something in it for you...

Cottage Industrialist Textiles Holiday Giveaway:

Here's the deal--I'm giving away 2 yards of quilt-weight fabric in any of my available designs (to be chosen by the winner). Enter to win three (!) ways. 1) Visit my exhibition on papernstitch, and take a look! Leave me a comment there on your favorite design (you'll need to sign-in, so I can be sure to get your email address); 2) Leave me a comment on this blog about your favorite design from the papernstitch exhibition; and 3) Spread the word: tweet a link to this giveaway with this link: http://cottage-industrialist.com/holidaygiveaway. Entries will be accepted from now until midnight EST on December 11. I'll pick the winner at random and post the results on Monday, December 14.

And for all who celebrate it, I wish you a happy, healthy Thanksgiving.

And stay tuned...later this week I'll be posting a fun printable featuring designs from some of my favorite fabrics!

What a wonderful give away. Your fabric designs are lovely and my favorite is your cherry red, although your winter animals come in a close second.

I have recently become aware of Spoonflower and am thrilled to learn how to submit designs to have printed. Your designs are wonderful. It's hard to chose one. I like the Sakura Red, but then the Moroquaise 1 is also very interesting. I love the name for the fabric, Moroquaise. Just too cool! It would be an honor to win 2 yards of your fabric. I'm gonna go and tweet about it now. This is the link to my tweets, http://twitter.com/tinknfrog. Cheers!

I LOVE your Cherry Blossom blue pattern. After attending college in Annapolis, MD and living in D.C. for 2..it reminds me so much of the beautiful spring days! Amazing work!

November 27, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterColleen

Gosh, your fabrics are AWESOME!!! There are so many fun ones and some the are just down right beautiful. It's kind of hard to pick, but I think my vote is for the Peacock Border fabric.

November 27, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterbink & boo

Your designs are great! I like the Peacock Border best!

November 27, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterShannon F.

I tweeted about this here!: http://twitter.com/channynn/statuses/6127515304

November 27, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterShannon F.

I think a lot of your fabrics are absolutely beautiful, I even have a couple of them saved as favorites on Spoonflower. I think my two absolute favorites are "Love Knots" and "Helicopters". Since you wanted my favorite from the Papernstitch exhibition, I'll have to go with "Love Knots", since the other isn't there.

November 27, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterVictoria Lasher

Well, there are two of your designs that I really like: Peacock and Bubbles. If I have to choose just one, I would choose Bubbles. It is fun, modern yet soft. If you go to my website you can see that I make wristlet bangle clutches. This fabric would be very cute as a clutch. Love your blog

I love all of them AND you! Right now I think Sakura Red is my favorite. And not just because it reminds me of veggie tempura and a fork.

November 29, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterEm

I really like all your Xmas designs, but my favorite definitely is the Psychedelic circles: so much life & good mood in this design! Hope you'll pick me...
Have a lovely day!

November 30, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterLine

I haven't written about my favorite design yet because I just couldn't decide which one to take. Can I just take them all? I really, really love maroquaise I, but then again bubbles is to die for! And cherry red and blue, oh I could just look at them forever. And then I kind of wish they would sell your christmas fabric in my normal fabric store because then I would just have to go on over and not have them shipped all the way from the US to Europe.
And there is a calendar! I alrady bought two in store yesterday but I do know now what my friends can get me for my birthday (which is never easy...).
Long story short, if I were to win I would take cherry red. Because I just called my mom and she told me she would love to have a bit of that fabric :)
Thank you for the great giveaway!

I love your winter animals and think they'd look great with the snowflake print! I don't even like holiday novelty prints, but these are really good.

December 1, 2009 | Unregistered Commentermjb

I ADORE Ginko leaves--and your fabric captures them beautifully. Wonderful design work!

December 1, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMoniCue

I like the green Crysanthamum fabric!

December 2, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNova

I don't think Moroquaise II is getting enough love! It's gorgeous, both the color and the pattern.

December 3, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterApril

Spoonflower is a bad bad place for me. :D

i love ALL of your fabrics, but if I had to pick one it would be Love Knots.

December 4, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterSheena

I like the Psychedelic Circles in small doses, and the Gingko Scatter in larger doses. But they are all great!

December 4, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterHeather HS

Cool fabric! I like the psychidelic circles. Thanks for the chance.

December 5, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAnya

I love your fabrics so much! The peacock boarder is my favorite, but the gingko (putty) is a close second. Even if I don't win, I'm going to have fun thinking of projects for them!

December 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterErin

I love them all!! But would love to create some pillows for my new classroom at SOA. Preppychain or Gingko are just wonderful. I'd love to do patchwork pillows and, of course, I'd stitch up some elephants from the leftovers. Looking at your designs, Cam, gives me so many ideas. I don't want to sleep. Your blog is wonderful!

December 8, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterElephant Girl

I'm going to have to go with your luxurious Peacock pattern. Reminds me of something from my childhood- I feel it was a pillow from a relative's house- or maybe it was a friend of my parents... regardless, pillows are what I would make with it.

December 8, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMichelle | Cicada Studio

Must say I'm all about that cherry red. Plain and Simple.
I want boudoir pillows done in the cherry red to offset the fussy red toile duvet cover I have. I know, that's alotta red.

December 9, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNoraCharles

I'm in love with the helicopters pattern.

December 11, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterHeather Solos

I am in love with the cherry_blue! So pretty!!

December 11, 2009 | Unregistered Commentermindy

ooh, i love them all, but i'm most excited about the possibility of sewing something FOR MYSELF (!!) with clover. hope i win!

December 11, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterjulie green

I like the clover - simple, versatile print - I can see a nice skirt coming out of it, perhaps trimmed with yellow ribbon

December 11, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterMM

Wow, you are ah-mazing! I love them all. The lanterns pattern caught my eye, but really, they are all wonderful.

December 11, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJudy

I love the gingko and it appears you do too! Like the way you used it on your site - would love to see it "live" and in person....
